What do I see from the word freedom?? Hmm..
What do freedom means to me?
This means, to be free from something or someone. For example, an independent country is a country that is free from domination. Another common situation thought by mostly everyone; Is that we are given freedom to make choice and free from slavery.
Well, I have few views toward freedom. To me, there is no such thing as true freedom. I mean, philosophically there can never be true freedom.
For me, freedom means that I am given chances and power to do anything that I want without any boundaries. Though this may sounds selfish, my view toward true freedom is that whenever I do something, I won’t be concerning whether it is right or wrong, does it effect or affect other people, will it hurt others or bring benefit etc. Anything won’t come up; I can just simply do it without bother. How do I love if I am given that freedom.
Regardless of anything, authorities and rules are still in need. It is widely known that authority and rules are there to keep everything in order. Well, that’s just a deception to fool people. Authority and rules are just to control people. And I’ve read a writing once, the author said, “Authorities are just for those who need it.” I can be agrees with him. However, I think that it’s the rules of society that is actually keeps things in order. Face the fact, the truth is that nobody actually follows (directly) rules prepared by the authority. What they follow is the social rules. Based on the experience and knowledge through parents, teachers, leaders or people that they idolized, it is then does a persons’ behavior and common sense was developed.
And people need reasons to live. Dreams and rules boundaries are few of the reasons. So, in the end there can be no such thing as true freedom. And having too much freedom means there will be someone out there losing their own freedom. The most clear example is, when Country A is allowed to gain control over Country B, Country B will loose its’ own freedom. I don’t want that kind of freedom. That is not freedom. That’s narcissism.
I believe that I have already achieved my freedom. My freedom is where I have free choice. I am not bounded by any rules except for my own rules. My rule is the social rule. I am selfish. I will do anything I want to do as long as it is not too selfish. Being too selfish might end up bringing misfortune toward other people. So, I can never be bored by my freedom since I am both bounded and unbounded by rules. I am glad that I still bounded by few rules. For example, since I am bounded by common sense, I won’t be doing any heavy crime.
I have another view in term of freedom. Freedom means that you are given the power to choose your own choice. Imagine, the truth is that we are rarely given the power to have our own choice. We are give choices. We have to choose between these choices. We were taught not to avoid these choices. If you don’t choose, you’ll end up being considered as sarcastic and you’ll definitely be mark as wrong. Either you choose A or B. If not, you’re out of place. We need to pick up choices given. If I am give the chance to choose, I’d choose my own answer instead of picking up neither choice A or B etc which were given to me. That’s what I call free will. The freedom to make your own choices.
Finally, freedom is the power to have control over your own life. You should control your own destiny. Your future is in your hand. Don't let other people way of thinking controls you own way of thinking. You are what you are. Love your self. Be yourself. Don't try to be others. Just to meet poeples' expactation, you lie to yourself. DON'T LIE, BE PROUD.
TELL ME WHAT DO YOU THINK OF FREEDOM?

"Freedom can be achieved through inner sovereignty."
- Mohandas K. Gandhi
